Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Impact Journal (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Impact Journal is a web application that helps knowledge workers capture weekly accomplishments and generate AI-powered summaries, including monthly rollups, quarterly rollups, and promotion narrative packets.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and create a password to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

4. Free and Paid Plans

Impact Journal offers a free tier with access to your last 4 weeks of entries and 1 rollup. The paid plan ($9/month) provides unlimited entries, all rollup types, and promotion narrative generation. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your current billing period.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all journal entries and content you submit to the Service. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. Journal entries are private by default and are never shared with other users.

Deleted entries are soft-deleted (hidden from view) and may be recovered within 30 days. After 30 days, deleted entries may be permanently removed.

6. AI Processing

When you generate rollups or promotion narratives, your journal entries are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. This content is used solely to generate your requested summaries and is subject to OpenAI's data usage policies. We do not use your content to train AI models.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
• Upload malicious content or attempt prompt injection attacks
• Resell or redistribute the Service without permission

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Impact Journal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
